Versus Series: The Powerful Prototypes

In this Versus Series Mobile Suit Gundam takes center stage once again, this time it features 3 powerful Mobile Suits that had only either 1 too 3 built. 2 use devices that enhance a pilots ability while one is just overall a monster and makes the enemy shit their pants. Same categories as with the others VS with mobile suits from the Gundamverse.

FA-78 Full Armor Gundam (Thunderbolt Sector Version): The FA Full Armor Gundam is a Prototype sent by the EFSF too the Moore Brotherhood too help them take back the Thunderbolt sector from Zeon. Io Fleming was piloting it during the battle in the Thunderbolt sector against Zeon. It had no equal in combat until it faced against the Psycho Zaku in combat. The pilot Io Fleming likes Jazz music, so when you hear Jazz the Gundam is coming for you and death is riding shotgun.

MS-06R Zaku II High Mobility Type (Reuse "P" Device). This Zaku is a very unique one. It is equipped with a device that lets a pilot have an almost "oneness" with the suit but it comes at a price. You have too have your arms and legs chopped off and have connecters fitted too the pilot and hooked into the suit. The P device lets the pilot use the suit via thought process. (I have too be honest not enough is known about the P device but reaction time is very quick from what I've seen of the anime and OVAs).

MSN-02 Zeong (or Geeong in the English Dub of the anime. Either name works). 3 of these suits were built but only one saw combat during the final battle between Zeon and the EFSF. It is only 80% complete but tell that too the poor bastards who faced it in combat. It is very powerful and combined with a Newtype piloting it. It is just about unstoppable.

Will now grade the Suits on their armor:

The Full Armor Gundams protective armor is unknown but it is tough enough too take machine gun fire, Bazooka fire and even taken a bazooka round too the head without losing the head. It is even tough enough too take a Zaku cracker (grenade) a point blank range and survive with minor damage. It is a tough mobile suit. It also can carry up too 4 shields at once, helping boost its defense.

The MS-06R Zaku II uses Super Hard Steel Alloy. It is tough enough too take a beating but like most Zeons suits beam weapon go right through the armor.

The MSN-02 uses Super Hard Steel Alloy for armor. While only 80% complete it is built tough. It and the Gundam toke many blows in their long battle. Only in the end both suits were destroyed.

The Full Armor Gundam gets the edge in terms of Armor.

Next is weapons:

The Full Armor Gundam has under its right shield a twin barrel beam rifle, under the left shield is has a 5 pod missile launcher, on the backpack it has a 6 pod missile launcher and a large beam cannon. It also has missile pods on the knee armor, waist skirt armor and chest armor. It has 3 beam sabers (2 on the backpack and one under the backpack for a last resort weapon.)

The Psycho Zaku has (here we go) 2 Zaku machine guns (with 4 extra magazines stored on the backpack), 1 Zaku bazooka (with 4 extra magazines stored on the backpack), 3 giant bazookas that carry 10 rounds each (normal stored on the backpack), 3 Sturm Fausts (stored on the backpack), 2 heat hawks and 1 beam bazooka. Yeah.....

The Zeong has 10 mega particle guns in the hands (that can be control via wires and each hand has 5 mega particle guns), 2 mega particle guns in the chest and 1 mega particle gun in the head.

Verdict: Well every mobile suit is armed too the teeth. All 3 have some beam weapons. The Zeong has beam weapons that fire at any angle (the hands). The Psycho Zaku has enough weapons too take out a fleet of ships and the Full Armor Gundam is just a beast.

All 3 are equals in terms of weapons.

Now onto Mobility: The Zaku and Gundam use backpacks with extra fuel tanks for increased mobility. Which can be discarded. The Zeong is very mobile without having the use of legs. It can however have legs attached. But it would lower the mobility.

Mobility comes down too the Zaku and Gundam. Both are built for high speed mobility in a place with a lot of debris from destroyed space colonies. Both get the edge over the Zeong.

Finally flexibility: Both the Gundam and Zaku can fight at close range. The Zeong can not. Each can fight at range (close, medium and long). But the Zeong has no close combat weapons too defend itself.

Finally the verdict:  This match will be a bit different. The Zeong will be piloted by a newtype (a human with advanced battle ability) and the Zaku will have a cripple piloting it. It is the only way too use the P device. The battle field will be in the Zeon space fortress Solomon. Plenty of places too hide and cover too be used. There is a interesting fact... all 3 suits fought too a draw in their final battles. So as in war it depends on luck. The Gundam pilot will be a slight disadvantage because of the 'normalisy' of the pilot but the Gundam itself bridges the gap quite well

The battle itself will be a barn burner. Each will score victories. The Zeong will win 2 times. Simply based on the fact its hands can be detached from the main body and fly around giving the Zeong an edge however that also leaves the suit venerable. If the Gundam and Zaku team up it would be over quickly. Plus it can't defend against a heat hawk or a beam saber.

The Psycho Zaku scores 3 wins. With a vast arsenal on its backpack and a P device the Psycho Zaku can keep up with the Newtype piloted Zeong. Even the FA Gundam will have trouble. The only issue is the armor.

The FA Gundam scores 4 wins. It has the defense and weapons too win the majority. And if needed it could detach its armor and increase it mobility but lower the defense as a result.

And I personally think the 1 battle will end in a all out draw. Simply based on history.

The Full Armor Gundam wins by a simple majority.

This was very difficult too decide. Zeon and the EFSF both built powerful mobile suits. Too their credit and detriment as well.
