Ryoko is back home Athens, Georgia. She left Japan in late October once her season ended. Before she left however Heart, Saki, Maori, Weiss and Scharlachrot saw her off. Ryoko gave Maori and Kamui her house keys so they can house sit once a week. She hasn't seen everyone since she left. However Catherine texted her and told her that she can set up a video call for her too see everyone. It toke time but on Christmas Eve Catherine got the call set up, everyone is at Cafe Aino in Hearts room. Ready too see her. Ryoko takes the call on her phone.
Ryoko: Hey Y'all.
Everyone: Hello!!!!!!!
Ryoko: Look at all those smiling faces. How y'all been?
Saki: Great.
Weiss: Fine.
Schar: Good.
Maori: Super.
Ryoko: Is Heart there?
Saki: Yeah she is sick. Sore throat.
*Saki rotates the camera too show Heart, who waves 'hello.'*
Ryoko: Get better Heart-Heart.
Maori: Where are you at?
Ryoko: My garage, working on my moms car.
Saki: It is Christmas, should be relaxing. And it is late your time.
Ryoko: A mechanics work is never done. I don't mind burning the midnight oil.
Schar: Did you graduate? The super genius told us you have too finish up your classes.
*Ryoko goes and grabs her degree*
Ryoko: Yours truly graduated. See?
Everyone: Yay!!!!!!
Weiss: Impressive.
Schar: Indeed.
Maori: We are glad for you Ryoko!
Ryoko: I have a good support group. *smile*
Schar: Why is your work never done?
Ryoko: I always have things too work on. This isn't "work" too me. More like relaxing.
Weiss: Commander Ryoko relaxing by working?
Schar: Not everyone works 24/7 like you Sophie.
Saki: What is your moms car?
Ryoko: 1997 Honda Civic. Simple too work on. Did the rear brakes yesterday, doing the front ones tonight. Don't worry i can talk and work at the same time.
*Everyone watches Ryoko work on her moms car*
Saki: What is your car?
Ryoko: 1995 Toyota Supra BRZ Custom.
Saki: What is "custom" about it?
Ryoko: Well i wanted one and my dad was looking for something cheap. Found the car itself in a junkyard. The original engine was a wreck. So after some searching found a police car that was wrecked but the engine was in good shape. The engine didn't fit but after some modifying it did. Brought the engine back too its original power, upgraded the air intake, fuel system, exhaust, valves, added a race supercharger with race inter-cooler. When from 250hp too about 393hp. Stuck a 4 speed manual for the transmission, added race brakes, semi-race suspension, race front and rear sway bars, added a roll cage with race seats, made it go on a crash diet by strapping all unneeded weight out of it, race limited slip differential, the highest performance road legal tires you can find, upgraded front and rear tire widths, added front and rear down force pieces. So yes it is "Custom" in every sense of the word.
*Everyone looks overwhelmed*
Ryoko: *embarrassed* Sorry. I guess i got carried away. Schar and Weiss... what are you two reading?
Weiss: That book you gave us. "Auto racing for dummies."
Ryoko: *unsure* you two carry that with you?
Schar: Sometimes. In case you want too quiz us.
*Ryoko blankly stares at both of them*
Maori: Your house is doing fine.
Ryoko: *sigh* Thank you Miss Maori.
Maori: *happy* Don't worry about it. Me and the Millennial Guardian swap weeks. It works out.
Saki: Do you enjoy that?
Ryoko: Yep. Like i said, this isn't work. Dirty work but nothing is wrong with elbow grease.
Saki: You are almost done?
Ryoko: Almost... be done tonight. Mom doesn't have too work for another 7 days.
Maori: What does your mom do?
Ryoko: Supervisor at a parts factory. Being there for 15 years. Earned her way too where she is now.
Saki: She is a hard worker.
Ryoko: Hard work pays off Saki.
*Schar and Weiss are still reading their books*
Ryoko: You two done yet?
Schar/Weiss: Huh?
Ryoko: *sigh* Never mind.
*Ryoko stomach growls*
Ryoko: I'll go get something too eat.
Maori: There are places open on Christmas Eve?
Ryoko: Yep. One place.
Saki: What is it?
Ryoko: A mini-mart. Have the best damn burgers in town. Be a bit of a drive but worth it.
Maori: Are you hanging up?
Ryoko: No. You guys are coming with me. Got too clean up first.
*Ryoko leaves the garage and enters her house. Her mother is in the living room, doing work related paper work. Ryoko leaves her phone with her mother while she cleans herself up. Everyone chats up her mother, even though it is a short conversation, everyone likes her mom. Ryoko returns and gets ready with her jacket (Arizona State), hat (That says "US Army" on it) and driving gloves. When she steps outside, it is snowing, sticking too the road and ground.*
Ryoko: I guess i'll have too change my vehicle.
Schar: Too what?
Ryoko: Y'all will see.
*She takes a short walk too another building, which is a 3 car garage and enters. Inside there are 3 spots for cars, one is empty for her mothers car is in the main garage. The other two are filled.*
Schar: Are those yours too?
Ryoko: Yep, i own both of them.
Schar: Okay..... Why is one bigger then the other?
Ryoko: Serve different purposes.
Schar: ugh, never mind.
Weiss: *smile* Commander Ryoko always uses the best equipment for her missions.
Ryoko: *sulk* Indeed Weiss, indeed.
Schar: Sophie you did it again.
Weiss: *embarrassed* eh.... urm..... sorry.
Ryoko: Schar you have too get onto her about that.
Schar: *innocent* I'll do my best.
*Ryoko uses her key fob too remote start her truck and unlock it*
Weiss: *surprised* It started on its own.
Ryoko: Modern technology. Got too do some checks and we'll be on our way.
Schar: Sounds nice.
Ryoko: Exhaust came with it. I added the roof lights and brush guard on the front. Other then that stock from the factory. It is a couple years old but worth every bit i payed for it.
Saki: Looks like it holds 4 people. What is the point of you just driving it by yourself?
Ryoko: I'm a country girl, we love our trucks. *leer* Understand?
*Everyone nods their head in agreement*
Ryoko: Good
*Ryoko unhooks the battery from the trickle charger and checks tire pressure, adding air if needed.*
Ryoko: Alright... off we go.
*Ryoko enters, puts her phone on a holder and hooks it up so it doesn't drain the battery on her phone and buckles up. Selects a music playlist name "Drive tunes" and plays it. First song pops up is Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight."
Ryoko: Perfect for a night cruise.
*Ryoko sets off. Her music isn't too loud but everyone doesn't talk too her while she drives. In reality, they are just happy too see her. She is also driving differently. In Japan she has both hands on the wheel and is very serious, but instead she has one hand on the wheel and is very content. After a roughly 20 minute drive Ryoko arrives in Athens.*
Ryoko: I think i'll give you guys a tour of where i was born.
*Ryoko rotates the phone holder around too view out the windshield. She drivers around showing everyone the town of her birth. The hospital, the places were she hung out, the school in which she attended. Everyone gets the feeling that they are closer too Ryoko then they previously were. After the tour, Ryoko finds the mini-mart and parks. She takes everyone inside*
Saki: What a place...
Maori: It has everything...
Weiss: Who knew such a place existed.
Schar: Indeed.
Ryoko: *smirk* Only in America. One stop shopping.
*Ryoko finds the restaurant in the back and meets the manager. After a brief chat, she places her order*
Ryoko: 3 1/2lbs super burgers... with everything. 3 large fries, 1 pop and 1 sweet tea.
*The manager starts cooking her order*
Saki: Are you going too eat all that?
Ryoko: Yep.
Maori: In one setting?
Ryoko: Yep.
Schar/Weiss: Are you sure?
Ryoko: Yep.
Saki: *unsure* All those calories...
Ryoko: *leer* Saki, don't bash the fating properties of the greasy yummy goodness.
*Saki hides behind everyone else. Seeing the food being cooked Heart does her best too physically push through the computer monitor too where Ryoko is..... but she fails miserably. Knocking stuff over.*
Ryoko: Is... everything okay over there???
Schar: We are fine, Commander Heart must have let hunger go too her brain. She tried too go through the monitor too get the food.
*Ryoko hears Heart openly moans that she wants the burgers but Saki and Maori put her back too bed and give her some ice cream too shut her up. Heart pouts while the eating the ice cream. When her food is finished, she pays and leaves*
Ryoko: Being awhile since i've had these burgers. A real treat for me.
Maori: Your food is a treat too.
Ryoko: Well thank you. Better get home before it gets cold.
*Ryoko gets back into her truck and heads for home. Enjoying her jams and every ones 'dancing' at her jams. She makes it home and parks her truck in the 3-car garage and hooks her truck back up too the trickle charger. She hands her mom the sweet tea, which she is happy too take. She heads down stairs too her room. Well the whole basement is her room. She grabs a small fold able table and parks herself in front her of TV.*
Ryoko: Have my treat then back too work. *turns on TV*
Maori: What are you watching?
Ryoko: Hockey.
Weiss/Schar: What is 'hockey'?
Ryoko: *sigh*
*Ryoko gives a brief but simple explanation of hockey*
Weiss/Schar: Oh.... okay.
*Ryoko watches hockey while eating. Ryoko has her phone facing her TV, so everyone can too watch too. Schar and Weiss do not ask many questions, everyone else just watches. Ryoko finishes everything she bought, cleans up and heads back too her garage too finish her moms car.*
Maori: What more do you have too do?
Ryoko: Put the new brake pads on and bleed the system. And give her car a engine service.
*They all chat about various things while she finishes up working on her mothers car. Once finished she lets her mother know. Her mother is very thankful. Ryoko goes back outside too view the snow*
Saki: Is everything okay?
Ryoko: Yeah...... i just miss you guys.
Maori: We miss you too.
Ryoko: Can't wait too get back. The itch is becoming unbearable. But i do need a break.
Weiss: We await your return...... and your instructions.
Ryoko: Maybe when i get back.... you guys can come watch me test.
Saki: *smile* We all look forward too that.
Ryoko: *Yawn* Well.... i guess i'll head off too bed. Had a long day. Got a lot of work done but more tomorrow.
Weiss: Don't burn yourself out.
Ryoko: I will not. Do not worry. Merry Christmas everyone.
Everyone: Merry Christmas Ryoko!
Ryoko: See y'all later.
Everyone: Good-bye!!!
*The call ends. Ryoko goes back inside, takes a warm bath and goes too bed. She is very happy too see everyone again. The next day, she begins her usually routine of cleaning, working and other things around the house and outside.*
