Versus Series: Mobile Suit Gundam Triple Threat Part 2

In my previous Versus Series i toke 3 mobile suits from the Mobile Suit Gundamverse. The Iconic RX-78-2 Gundam, the badass Gouf Custom and the RGM-79 GM. 2 are from the Earth Federation Space Forces and one is from the Principality of Zeon. In this one i'll take 2 from Zeon and 1 from the EFSF. These mobile suits have been forged in battle and are each unique. Lets get started.

The MS-14 Gelgoog was Zeons first high performance mobile suit that could use beam weapons. It was vastly better then a Rick-Dom and the Zaku II. This was Zeons answer too the Gundam and the mass produced GM that too used beam weapons.

The MS-09B Dom was a heavy type mobile suit that was better then the Zaku II and the original Gouf. It had great mobility and speed. It was famously used by the Zeon aces The Black Tri-Stars and their Jet Stream Attack.

The RX-79 [G] Gundam was a pre-production model made from the vast amounts of spare parts from RX-78 Gundam. It was originally meant for testing weapons and tactics but was put into the EFSF war effect mid way through the One Year War.

Like my last Versus Series, I'll judge the mobile suits based on Armor, Weapons, Mobility and Flexibility.

RX-79 [G] Armor: Like the RX-78 Gundam, the Ground Gundam had Luna Titanium Alloy. However do too the expense, production problems and how limited the material was the Ground Gundam only had the material in vital areas (most likely the cockpit area and joints.)

MS-14A Gelgoog Armor: It had Super Hard Steel Alloy for armor.

MS-09B Dom Armor: The Dom had Super Hard Steel Alloy for armor. However for being a heavy type mobile suit, it probably had more armor then normal due too how heavy it is.

Verdict: The Ground Gundam gets the slight edge over the Dom and Gelgoog. If this was the RX-78 it is would get the edge period because the whole mobile suit was covered in Luna Titanium Alloy. But the RX-79 [G] only has it in vital areas. The Dom gets the slight edge over the Gelgoog because it has more armor.

RX-79 [G] Weapons:
Vulcan Gun: A chest mounted weapon with a high rate of fire. Lacks the power too damage mobile suits but good for lightly armored targets or fast moving targets.
Multi-launcher: Fires various munitions like grenades, flares and chaff.
Beam Saber: The Ground Gundam carried 2 of these weapons one in each leg.
100mm Machine Gun: An open bolt, gas operated, magazine fed machine gun. Fired 100x450mm bullets from a 20 magazine at 500 rounds per minute. Range was 1.5 kilometers. Each Gundam carried 2 extra magazines on the hip armor (can see the picture provided).
180mm Artillery cannon: This weapon fired 180x800mm HE (High Explosive) rounds from a 8 round box magazine. Range was 3 kilometers.
Beam Rifle: This weapon fired 15 rounds. Bore of the rifle was 150mm. Range was 2 kilometers. Fired at 60 rounds a minute. Also carried a under barrel rocket launcher with 3 rockets.
6 tube missile launcher: Each tube carried 2 wire guided missiles. Used mostly too take out slow targets.
Hyper Bazooka: Fired 380x1900mm HEDP at ranges of up too 2.5 kilometers. It carried 5 rockets plus 1 already in the chamber.
Gundam Hammer: A ranged melee weapon. A giant ball with spikes on it attached to a chain.
Shield: Can deflect most ballistic and some explosive weapons.

MS-09B Dom Weapons:
880mm Bazooka: carried 5 rounds in each magazine. Extra magazines were carried on a waist storage rack.
360mm Bazooka: Fits the Doms "hit hard and hit fast" mentality. Carries 10 rounds in a magazine. Could destory a mobile suit in one hit. (this weapon is what most likely killed Armuro Ray in the Mobile Suit Gundam Origins manga. Ray got killed by a stray Dom shell)
Heat Saber: Resembling the beam sabers that the EFSF uses but still heats the blade of the weapon instead of using ionized plasma.
Knuckle Shield: A Zaku II shield modified for the Dom. Could be used for defense and offense as a bashing weapon.
Mace: Old school weapon made bigger for a mobile suit. Could deal heavy blows.
90mm Machine Gun: Fired 32 rounds from a drum magazine. Extra magazines were stored on the waist armor.
Scatter Beam Gun: Was too weak too deal damage too mobile suits but could be used a distraction. For both the pilot and mobile suit sensors.
Sturm Faust: A high explosive rocket used for anti-ship and anti-mobile suit combat. It was unguided.
120mm Machine Gun: Had a 100 round drum magazine. Was poor against heavy armor.

MS-14 Gelgoog Weapons:
Dual Beam Sword: Think of the Saber staff from the Star Wars Universe. That is pretty much what this weapon is. With a above average in size hilt and 2 beam blades. This weapon allowed pilot more options in close combat with the ability too adjust their fighting styles.
Beam Rifle: Had the power too go through all but the special treated materials.
Trail Product Beam Rifle: Had more power then the standard beam rifle but held less ammo.
360mm Bazooka: Same the as the Doms.
380mm Bazooka: Made for a different mobile suit. Was magazine fed and held 5 round in each magazine.
Beam machine gun: Was used for a different mobile suit. Had a replaceable e-pack.
Experimental Beam Rifle: A very large weapon. Very powerful.
Shield: A thick metal shield that looks like the shields used by the African Zulu tribe:

Verdict: The Ground Gundam and the Gelgoog have beam weapons. However the Gelgoog has that dual beam saber. Each mobile suit has ballistic weapons but like in my previous VS, beam weapons are king. But the Gelgoog gets the slight edge over the Ground Gundam and the edge over the Dom. The Ground Gundam gets the edge over the Dom

RX-79 [G] Mobility: The Ground Gundam could pull max acceleration of 0.71Gs. Standard weight was 52.8 metric tons, full weight was 73 metric tons.
MS-09B Dom Mobility: The Dom could pull max acceleration of 0.71Gs. Max walking speed was 90 km/h, max hovering speed was 240 km/h. Standard weight was 62.6 metric tons, full weight was 81.8 metric tons.
MS-14 Gelgoog Mobility: The Gelgoog could pull max acceleration of 0.84Gs. Standard weight was 42.1 metric tons. Full weight was 73.3 metric tons. Max ground speed was 180kmh.

Verdict: While the Dom is the heaviest mobile suit here, it is by far the fastest. Basically no contest. The Dom gets the edge over the Gelgoog and Ground Gundam. The Gelgoog gets the edge over the Ground Gundam.

RX-79 [G] Flexibility: The Ground Gundam can fight at any range. Close too Long.
MS-09B Flexibility: The Dom is a 'hit and run" mobile suit. Close too Short range is about what the Dom can do.
MS-14 Gelgoog: It is a General Purpose mobile suit. Close too Long.

Verdict: The Ground Gundam and Gelgoog at least based on weapons and the way they are used in the Gundamverse would suggest that they are equals on Flexibility. Each gets the edge over the Dom.

The Final Verdict:
(Like my previous VS, each mobile suit will get go with that standard load out. The Ground Gundam would get the Beam Rifle, shield, 2 Beam Sabers, Vulcan Gun and Multi-Launcher. The MS-09B well get the 360mm Bazooka, Scatter Beam Gun and Heat Saber. The MS-14 Gelgoog will get the Beam Rifle, Shield and Dual Beam Saber)

The Ground Gundam is 1st (slightly) in Armor, 2nd in Weapons, 3rd in Mobility and 1st (tie) in Flexibility.
The Dom is 2nd (slightly) in Armor, 3rd in Weapons, 1st in Mobility and 3rd in Flexibility.
The Gelgoog is 3rd in Armor, 1st (slightly) in Weapons, 2nd in Mobility and 1st (tie) in Flexibility.

Out of 10 battles fought The Gelgoog wins 5, The Dom wins 3 and The Ground Gundam wins 2.

The Gelgoog is a more modern and all-round mobile suit. Zeon had a good mobile suit on their hands, they just lacked the foresight and pilots too use it properly. The Doms Bazooka could easily take out either mobile suit easily but the Dom is a "hit and run" MS. While it may be able too hold its own in a straight up fight, against 2 other mobile suit it will have too stick too "hit and run" tactics. The Ground Gundam can hold its own even with beam weapons being used. But it has a lack mobility and its armor has limits. If it comes too close combat, well the Gelgoog has that dual beam saber, the Dom can shine. Here the Dom can uses its speed too "hack and slash" its way through defenses. The Beam Scatter Gun can work here as well, blinding both suit and pilot. The Ground Gundam again can hang here but its lack of Mobility will hurt here as well. The battle will not be easy though at the end of every battle, the victor will have battle damage.

The Gelgoog is the overall winner of this Versus Series.

Hope anyone who reads this enjoys it.
