My Favorite Racetracks (Real of Fictional) Part 5

Being over 2 years since my last blog about my favorite race track in real life or in the land fiction. Got 2 more for this one like the rest. So here we go.

Royal Raceway from Mario Kart 64. For some reason i like this track. Other then the one long straight there are some challenges too. While the game promotes drifting around corners you really don't need too drift. However there are some pitfalls here. The first is the hairpin. If you are at the 150cc or higher and get hit with a shell, bomb and someone with a star you can fly of the corner and into the drink. The next trip up is the long straightway with the boost pads. If someone wanted too they could side swipe you right before you leave the ramp and hit the hill and fall into the drink. My favorite set of corners is the last bit on the south end of the track. They corners are banked, letting you carry a lot of speed however the last little straight before the left hander too the S/F line is also banked. Hit someone and launch them into the air they may very well end in the drink. The track isn't boring and is very fast.

My last track for this blog is one that i can't find an image of. It is the Detroit Street circuit from the Original Gird game. It is also featured in real life. Formula 1, Trans-Am and Indycar raced at the track during the 80's. It is one of the few street circuits i actually enjoy racing at. With plenty of curbs too take, right angle corners and just overall plenty of leeway too cut corners.
